If you’ve been dealing with ringing in your ears, you might want to learn about helichrysum oil for tinnitus relief. Tinnitus is a common issue that often signals an underlying condition and can seriously interrupt your daily life. The noise can vary in volume and may affect one or both ears. There are different treatments available, and one effective approach is using essential oils.
Essential oils have been used for thousands of years, extracted from the essence of roots, barks, flowers, and leaves of various healing plants. These natural remedies bring relief to those suffering from tinnitus, helping them focus on daily activities and stay connected with loved ones. Helichrysum oil, in particular, is known for reducing ear ringing by impacting the limbic system, which governs emotions and memories, while also easing anxiety and tension.
Tinnitus is often caused by head or neck injuries, circulation issues, viral infections, or inflammation that damages the tiny hairs in the inner ear. Helichrysum oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to promote skin healing. It may reduce inflammation in the ears and nerves, lessening the ringing sounds.
The main cause of tinnitus is inflammation in the ears or nerve issues in the neck. Helichrysum oil can help by reducing this inflammation. It also encourages the drainage of excess fluids and prevents earwax buildup. By helping to open neck channels, it allows fluids like lymph and blood to drain better, relieving pressure near the ears.
Helichrysum oil also improves circulation, which can alleviate pulsing tinnitus caused by blood flow problems.
Here’s how to use it:
1. Mix ¼ cup of almond oil, 5 drops of helichrysum oil, and 15 drops of patchouli in a 2 oz amber glass dropper bottle. Shake gently. Place 1-3 drops on a cotton ball and gently rub it on the rims and back of your ears, along the eustachian tubes, ear lobes, sides of the neck, and temples. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes.
2. Blend 1 drop of helichrysum and 1 drop of lavender with ¼ teaspoon of olive oil. Let a cotton ball soak it all up without dripping. Insert the cotton ball gently in your earlobe, but don’t push it into the ear canal. Leave overnight for best results.
3. Add 1 drop of helichrysum, frankincense, and lavender to a pot of boiling water. Remove from heat and make a steam tent with a towel over your head. Let the essential oil steam penetrate your ears. This method is especially effective for single-ear tinnitus. Do this once a day for relief.
